Lectionary Music at a Glance is designed for the church music planner and musician in congregations that use the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) or the Episcopal Lectionary from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer.  Denominational resources used include, but are not limited to, Episcopal Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, United Methodist, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, Roman Catholic, and non-denominational.

The intent of this website is to provide a list of hymns and songs that are appropriate for the lessons appointed by the lectionary so you do not need all the music, reference books and software to do the research.  Churches across denominations, especially liturgical churches, are finding themselves with limited funds for seminary trained clergy and classically trained church musicians.  As we have more clergy and musicians that are part-time or bi-vocational, time is limited and inexpensive resources are needed.

Music is set up denominationally.  As an Episcopalian, the Episcopal Resources will be the default and will be available first.  Many hymnals have the same hymns so you may find many of the selections in your hymnal.  The other materials may be useful to find something new for a special service, or add to your list of special music.

If you would like more information on copyright, liturgy, song book preparation, or worship material preparation, I can be reached at mikesmusic@sprynet.com.  Suggestions for improvements are welcome.
